Man 'murders' wife

BANGALORE, DEC. 16. A coolie of Agara village allegedly murdered
his wife when she was asleep in her mother's house in the early
hours of Saturday.
Anjanappa of Agara village was married to Pillamma (32) two years
ago. Both Anjanappa and Pillamma used to quarrel frequently. Six
months ago, Pillamma had left her husband's house and was staying
in her mother's house.
A month ago, Anjanappa came to his mother-in-law's house and
decided to stay on with his wife. On Friday night, Anjanappa
quarrelled with Pillamma. An enraged Anjanappa smashed Pillamma's
head with a boulder and fled at about 4 a.m. The body was found
by Pillamma's sister, Vasantha.
Koramangala Police have registered a case.
Arrested
The Chickpet Police recently arrested a rowdy-sheeter and
recovered a motorcycle from him.
According to police, K.Nagaraj alias Mogya (30) borrowed a
motorcycle from his friend, Mr. Kemmandar on December 10. Nagaraj
refused to return the motorcycle and told Mr. Kemmandar that he
had sold it for Rs.15,000. He demanded Rs.12,000 from Mr.
Kemmandar if he wanted his motorcycle back.
Following a complaint by Mr. Kemmandar on December 13, the
Chickpet Police arrested Nagaraj and recovered the motorcycle.
Nagaraj was reportedly involved in cases of extortion, attempt to
murder and murder in Shankarapuram Police limits.
Chickpet Police have registered a case.
Suicide
An employee of a printing press committed suicide by hanging
himself at his uncle's house in Cauverynagar on Friday.
According to a complaint by Mr. Nagaraja Karigowda, his nephew,
Gangadhara (24) had come to his house and stayed back to watch
television. When Mr. Karigowda, who had gone out of the house on
some errand returned, he found that Gangadhara had hanged
himself.
Gangadhara was suffering from stomach ache. However, the reason
for the act is not known. Kamakshipalya Police have registered a
case.
Body found
The body of a vagrant was found near a Ganesh Temple in
Subramanyapura Police limits on Saturday.
The Subramanyapura Police are investigating.
