ACC to discuss India's decision

LAHORE, APRIL 28. The special general meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will be held here on May 25 to discuss the Indian government's decision not to allow its team to participate in Sharjah tournaments for three years.

It is also likely to give its final approval to the Asian Test championship to be played between September-February next year and the Asia Cup in Pakistan in September next year. The Test championship matches will be played in Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, who will also host the final.

It will also approve the development programme for the game in the continent and its administrative structuring. The blue print of the programme was prepared by the development committee of the ACC in Kolkata last month.

The meeting, which was earlier scheduled to be held on April 15 but postponed at the request of some members, will be chaired by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) president, Lt. Gen. Tauqir Zia. The chairman of the Asian Cricket Foundation, Mr. Jagmohan Dalmiya and the BCCI president, A.C. Muthiah will be among the prominent members attending the meeting.
