Geelani has no links with Rabita Trust: JeI

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, OCT. 20. The Jamaat-e-Islami, Jammu and Kashmir, has refuted reports that senior Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, has relations with the Rabita Trust.

``Syed Ali Shah Geelani has nothing to do with Rabita Trust. He is a member of Rabitah-Aalam-e-Islam, which is an international non-governmental organisation of Muslims. This organisation enjoys observer status in the U.N. and the Organisation of Islamic Conference,'' Qazi Ahadullah, secretary of the Jamaat-e- Islami, said in a statement faxed from Srinagar today.

He said that Syed Ali Shah Geelani was elected executive member of the Rabitah-Aalam-e-Islam last year but was unable to attend any of the meetings as the Government did not give him passport.
