Bhukthi subdivisions in Kethu
PERHAPS some readers have duly worked out with a calculator the
nine Bhukthi subdivisions of the Maha Dasa of Kethu mentioned
last week. The following is the order and duration of the
Bhukthis. In years (Y), Months (M), and Days (D), in Kethu Maha
Dasa, the first Maha Dasa for those born under Ashwini, Makha,
and Moola stars: Kethu Bhukthi: O Y - 4 M - 27 D; Venus Bhukthi;
1 Y - 2 M - O D; the Sun's Bhukthi: OY - 4 M - 6 D; the Moon's: O
Y - 7 M - O D; that of Mars: O Y - 4 M - 27 D; Rahu's: 1 Y - O M
- 18 D; Jupiter's: O Y - 11 M - 6 D; Saturn's: 1 Y - 1 M - 9 D;
and, finally the Bhukthi of Mercury: O Y - 11 M - 27 D. If you
total up the columns, you will find that the aggregate does not
come to exactly 7 years. That is because we have omitted the
fractions of days - hours, and minutes - for each Bhukthi sub-
division. If they are added, the total will come to seven years,
the allotted span for Kethu Maha Dasa. (Such details of Maha
Dasa's and their Bhukthi's can be easily ascertained from the
supplemental pages of standard Panchanga's.)
In the example birth of February 1, 2000, we saw that a portion
of Kethu Maha Dasa is taken as having been spent by the native in
the mother's womb itself. We can work out that portion from the
above table, and see what remains of the Maha Dasa and its
remaining Bhukthi's, to be undergone by the native from the time
of birth into this world.
Queries answered
Is Angaraka (Chevvai) Dosha mitigated in the following cases:
Mars in Mesha, Vrischika, or Makara; if the Sun, Jupiter, or
Saturn is with Mars anywhere; when the native's Rasi is Kataka or
Simha?
C. V. Ramalingam, Palakkadu.
Angaraka Dosha will be mitigated if he is in one of his own Signs
- Mesha and Vrischika, or in Makara, where he attains exaltation.
The combination of Sun with Mars is not good, particularly in a
girl's horoscope. But Angaraka's being with Jupiter, or with
Saturn, can reduce the intensity of the Dosha. Jupiter's aspect
on Angaraka will also give the same kind of reduction. For the
Signs of Kataka and Simha, Angaraka is deemed to be a Yoga
Karaka, and therefore he may not produce the worst effects of the
Dosha. Remember that every horoscope must be carefully examined,
and the positions, aspects, and Maha Dasa and Bhukthi aspects
thoroughly scrutinised, before coming to firm conclusions.
