Inflation rate up

NEW DELHI, APRIL 2. Sharp rise in prices of naphtha, bitumen and furnace oil pushed up the inflation rate to a 43-week high of 3.74 per cent for the week ended March 18.

The increase in the annual rate of inflation was triggered mainly by a 1.2 per cent jump in the index for fuel, power, light and lubricants.
