Pak. threat to stop rail service
ISLAMABAD, APRIL 2. Pakistan has told India that it would have to
stop the passenger train service between the two countries unless
India fulfilled its obligations under the agreement governing the
service, the official news agency APP reported today.
The agency quoted Pakistan railways authorities as saying each
side had to provide the rolling stock for the Samjhauta Express
train for six months alternately. But the Indian authorities had
not done so for the past 18 months.
Last December, Indian Railways promised to provide engine and
coaches for the twice-weekly service but did not keep the
promise, the agency said.
