Trade unions resent CM's 'remarks'
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD, APRIL 2. The reported comment of the Chief Minister,
Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, that he will ``abolish all trade unions
in the State'', before a delegation of volunteers of the
Education department, has been severely criticised by all trade
unions in the State. They have urged him to withdraw these
remarks.
These remarks were published in a daily today. Referring to it,
Messrs S. Veeriah (CITU), P. Nageswara Rao (AITUC) D. Venkatesam
(INTUC), S. Sundaresan (HMS), R. V. Subba Rao (BMS), Bikshamiah
(IFTU) and others said the Chief Minister was displaying a
``dictatorial attitude''. The Chief Minister made a similar
comment at a Visakhapatnam press conference, and during
discussions with Singareni Collieries workers, the Chief Minister
said workers should bear the losses suffered by the Collieries.
``These comments have shocked the employees and the workers. The
Chief Minister should withdraw these comments and give an
explanation'', the trade union leaders said.
