GM `facilitates' auto component exports
NEW DELHI: General Motors India has facilitated export of over
10,000 condenser units worth over $600,000 to its European
counterpart. ``This is a major move in keeping with the
commitment towards exporting automobile components from India to
GM's overseas operations,'' stated a company release.
M&M ties up with Citibank
MUMBAI: Mahindra & Mahindra has tied up with Citibank for a
channel financing agreement for its dealers. Citibank has agreed
to take an exposure of Rs. 125 crores on a revolving basis and
the facility would be over and above the existing banking
facilities being enjoyed by dealers, M&M said in a statement.
According to Mr. U. Y. Phadke, M&M's Vice President (finance and
accounts), channel financing of this type was an innovative and
trend-setting link in the business cycle that brings value to all
players by leveraging on M&M's brand and products.
Mumbai to hold BankTech 2000
CHENNAI: The second international exhibition and conference
`India BankTech 2000' (technology solutions for banking and
finance) will be held from May 12 to 14 at World Trade Centre,
Mumbai. Organised by Intra Links Expo (I) Pvt. Ltd, this will
cover the latest technology trends in the banking and financial
sectors. The conference will address delegates from banks,
insurance companies, financial institutions, mutual funds,
investment bankers from India and the entire sub-continent.
Kodak's e-enabled digital kiosk
MUMBAI: Imaging major, Kodak India has introduced an `e-enabled'
multi-functional interactive digital photography Kiosk in India.
Known as `picture maker', the interactive equipment comprises a
high-speed digital camera, a computer and a thermal printer
attached to it, company Managing Director, Mr. Humayun Dhanrajgir
said. Priced at Rs. 1 lakh, the Kiosk is multi-functional as it
takes pictures, processes, prints them and loads them on the
Internet to be received at a similar outlet anywhere in the
world, he said.
go4I.Com ties up with U.S. firm
NEW DELHI: go4I.Com, has tied up with U.S.-based company, Stanton
Chase International, to set up a vertical portal on the career
segment - go4careers.Com. The new entity will have go4I.Com
holding 51 per cent majority stake with the remaining held by
Stanton Chase, chief executive officer of go4I.Com, Mr. Piyush
Gupta, said. Go4I.Com has invested around $1 million in setting
up the vertical portal which will provide users service of online
recruitment and undertake actual physical job search, he said,
adding the portal would be launched next month. The company is
also finalising a tie-up with Bigtree Entertainment to set up a
vertical portal on ticketing - go4ticketing.Com - to provide
users facility to book their tickets online for movies and
theatre, he said.
3CRC's training programme
CHENNAI: 3CRC Technologies, the engineering and interactive
software division of Pentasoft Technologies has launched a
premier high-end training program in CAD/CAM/CAE-CAD Whiskers,
through its franchisees. Initially, CAD-Whiskers will be offered
from six centres of which three are located in Chennai, two in
Bangalore and one at Bhuvaneshwar and 12 other centres will be
coming up shortly in other parts of the country. The CAD-Whiskers
is a technically innovative and futuristic course offering
competitive careers for students with mechanical engineering
background.
