Boy eaten by panther

BELLARY, MAY 2. A one-year-old boy was reportedly killed and eaten by a panther at A.K. Nagar in Bhujanganagar of Sandur taluk in Bellary on Monday night.

According to police, the panther took away the boy, when he was sleeping with his parents outside their house. A search was conducted after the latter found him missing in the morning. Fragments of flesh and clothes were found at a distance.

It is said that the people in the area had been spotting panthers in the outskirts of the village and there were reports of missing livestock. Two children were reportedly killed at Toranagal in Sandur taluk in 1999 by the animals.
