Boy eaten by panther
By Our Staff Correspondent
BELLARY, MAY 2. A one-year-old boy was reportedly killed and
eaten by a panther at A.K. Nagar in Bhujanganagar of Sandur taluk
in Bellary on Monday night.
According to police, the panther took away the boy, when he was
sleeping with his parents outside their house. A search was
conducted after the latter found him missing in the morning.
Fragments of flesh and clothes were found at a distance.
It is said that the people in the area had been spotting panthers
in the outskirts of the village and there were reports of missing
livestock. Two children were reportedly killed at Toranagal in
Sandur taluk in 1999 by the animals.
