Indian squad for Asian meet

BANGALORE, MAY 2. The Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) will field a 14-member team (seven men and seven women) for the Asian championship to be held in Hong Kong from May 13 to 16.

The TFI today named the teams after the selection trials held at the Sree Kanteerava indoor Stadium here.

Mr. Harish Kumar, President, and Mr. M. Chandrashekar, Secretary- General of the TFI will accompany the team.

The teams:

Men: Finweight: Kishore Singh (Maharashtra). Flyweight: K. Santosh (CISF). Bantamweight: Sanjeev Kumar (CISF). Featherweight: M. Vetriselvan (Karnataka). Welterweight: Sanjeev Kausal (CISF). Middleweight: M. Prakash (Karnataka). Heavyweight: Heera Pradhan (Sikkim).

Women: Fin: K. Bhagyalatha (Karnataka). Fly: Manou Devi (Arunachal Pradesh). Welter: C. Manjula (Karnataka). Light: K. Vanajakshi (Karnataka). Middle: N. Nandini (Karnataka). Heavy: G. Malini (Karnataka).

Officials: Coaches: Lee Jae Ku (Korea), Trilok Subba (Sikkim) and Goutham Chowdhry (West Bengal). Manager: P.P. Singh (Delhi).
