Khurana flays lifting of QRs
NEW DELHI, MAY 5. The former Union Minister, Mr. Madan Lal
Khurana, who was removed as the BJP vice-president for openly
criticising the lifting of Import Quantitative Restrictions
(IQRs) barely a week back, today raised the same issue at a
seminar here.
Mr. Khurana, who was invited to speak on ``Future of print
media'' by the All India Small and Medium Newspapers Federation
(AISMNF) here, took the opportunity to air his views against the
``unmindful globalisation'' and ``allowing of imports''.
``I am against the unmindful globalisation as it will have an
adverse impact on the Indian economy,'' Mr. Khurana said adding
``there has got to be globalisation but it should not be so rapid
as to destroy our small scale industries''.
There was no level-playing ground between the Indian
entrepreneurs and the foreign manufacturers he said.
