All the nine extremists and the seven surrendered cadres were produced before reporters this afternoon. The SP along with the Additional SP (Operations), Mr. Atul Singh, at a press conference said that of the nine arrested, two were working as members of the Viplava Rythu Coolie Sangham (VRCS) and the Radical Youth League (RYL), both frontal organisations of the banned outfit. The VRCS member, Gangireddi Kishan, resident of Markal village in Sadashivnagar mandal, was involved in seven cases and carried a reward of Rs. 10,000 on his head.

The other naxal was Muthyala Bheemaiah, the RYL member of the Markal area. He is involved in six cases and had given shelter to one Vennela, a PWG dalam member, who was injured in an exchange of fire with the police in Markal village on April 15. The naxal was responsible for her treatment and subsequent escape. A kitbag belonging to the said woman cadre was recovered from Bheemaiah. The other arrested naxals included Markanti Yerra Buchaiah, Yeleti Madhusudan Reddy, Bingi Ashanna, Chinta Madka Ramulu, Manda Anjaiah, Chakali Swamy and Kurma Sailu. Unable to bear the pressure of the police raids, he decided to surrender before the police. Theddu Suresh alias Madhu worked in Bheemgal dalam for five months and is involved in 10 cases, including two murders. The harassment of senior cadres forced him to take a decision to join the mainstream. Donkanti Narasimhulu, was another LGS member of the Machareddy area, who surrendered today. He worked in the Machareddy LGS led by Swaroopa by carrying 410 musket. An RYL member, Mahesh, involved in the murder of E.Gangadhar of Pallikonda village, also surrendered.
