ATM contract for Logica from Centurion
By Our Special Correspondent
BANGALORE, MAY 12. Logica India today announced that it has been
appointed by Centurion Bank to implement the Postilion ATM switch
to run all its ATMs throughout India. The contract includes
interfaces to Mastercard, Visa and the Shared Payment Network
System (SPNS) in India, known as Swadhan, together with Logica's
Q-Cards card management system.
The implementation will allow Centurion Bank to issue its
customers with Mastercard Cirrus/Maestro debit cards that can be
used throughout India and worldwide. The bank will also use
Postilion to expand its ATM network to all major Indian business
centres by the end of this financial year.
Postilion is the world's first widely used ATM switch implemented
on Microsoft's Windows NT platform. It has been implemented
widely around the world, including over 60 new customers in the
last three years.
Logica has based its worldwide retail banking product centre in
Bangalore, with over 250 staff. It has already sold these retail
banking products to many international banks such as ABN AMRO and
NatWest, as well as to local Indian banks.
