India wins team event
CALCUTTA, MAY 13. India won the international team event of the
Pan West Malaysian amateur Open golf championship held at
Staffield Country Resort Golf Course near Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
India was represented by Shiv Kapur and Ashok Kumar.
The two-man team emerged with two rounds cumulative scores of 284
to lead the second-placed Chinese Taipei (291) by seven strokes.
Kapur led the field with 138 (69-69) after two rounds and Kumar
with 146 (72-74) was in the sixth place in the individual event.
The scores of other Indian players were Lakshman Singh 149 (74-
75), Jaideep Patwardhan 152 (76-76), Jasjeet Singh 152 (76-76),
Aman Bahl 153 (77-76) and Saurav Bahuguna 154 (79-75).
