MBBS, BDS seat matrix notified

BANGALORE, MAY 18. The State Government has issued an order
notifying the provisional seat matrix in the 1st MBBS and 1st BDS
courses for the academic year 2000-2001 in government and private
medical and dental colleges.
The notification, issued on May 16, says, ``Any person or
institutions aggrieved by the seat matrix may file their
objections within 15 days from the date of notification, and the
Government shall, after considering the objections, if any,
notify the final seat matrix''.
According to the notification, the intake against 1st MBBS seats
in Government medical colleges is: Bangalore Medical College,
Bangalore (150); Mysore Medical College, Mysore (100); Karnataka
Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli (50); and Vijayanagara
Institute of Medical Sciences, Bellary (100).
The intake against 1st MBBS seats and the number of free seats
(merit), and payment seats (in the categories of ``Karnataka'',
``non- Karnataka'' and ``NRI and others'') in other colleges:
J.J.M. Medical College, Davangere: 245, 123, 49, 36 and 37;
J.N.Medical College, Belgaum: 150, 75, 30, 22 and 23; M.S.
Ramaiah College, Bangalore: 150, 75, 30, 22 and 14; Devaraj Urs
Medical College: 150, 75, 30, 22 and 23; J.S.S. Medical College,
Mysore: 150, 75, 30, 22 and 23; B. M. Patil Medical College,
Bijapur: 150, 75, 30, 22 and 23; Siddhartha Medical College,
Tumkur: 130, 65, 26, 19 and 20; Kempegowda Institute of Medical
Sciences, Bangalore: 120, 60, 24, 18 and 18; Adi Chunchanagiri
Institute of Medical Sciences, Bellur: 100, 50, 20, 15 and 15;
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Medical College, Bangalore: 100, 50, 20, 15

Religious/linguistic minority colleges (in the order of total
seats, government seats (in the categories of free seats and
payment seats) and management seats (in the categories of free
seats, payment seats and seats for NRI/others): Al-Ameen Medical
College, Bijapur: 100, 25, 25, 25, 10 and 15; Kasthurba Medical
College, Mangalore (under Manipal Academy of Higher Education
partially): 125, 31, 31, 31, 13 and 19.
The intake against 1st BDS seats in Government Dental College,
Bangalore, has been fixed at 60.
The intake against 1st BDS seats and the number of free seats,
payment seats (Karnataka and non-Karnataka) and seats for
NRI/others in private dental colleges: Bapuji Dental College,
Davangere: 100, 50, 20, 15 and 15; College of Dental Sciences,
