New courses in 48 colleges recommended

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MAY 30. The Syndicate of the Kerala University, which met here today, has recommended to the State Government, the sanctioning of new courses in 48 colleges coming under the University.

The new courses include B.Sc Biotechnology, B.Sc Industrial Chemistry, B.A. Communicative English, M.A. Business Economics, M.Sc Zoology with specialisation in Fishery Biology, M.Com Marketing, M.Com Banking, B.Sc Sericulture, B.Sc Optical Instrumentation, B.Sc Geography, B.Sc Industrial Microbiology, B.Sc Medical Microbiology and B.A. Functional Hindi.

Some of the colleges in and around Thiruvananthapuram and the new courses sanctioned for them are as follows:

Government Arts College: B.Sc Biotechnology, B.A. English Language and Literature, B.Sc Mathematics, B.Sc Statistics and MA Hindi.

Government College for Women: B.Sc Industrial Chemistry, B.A. Communicative English, B.Sc Statistics (conventional) and M.A. Business Economics.

KNM Government Arts and Science College, Kanjiramkulam: B.A. English (subsidiary journalism and History of England), B.Sc Computer Science, B.A. Politics, M.A. Sociology, M.A. Business Economics.

Government College, Kariavattom: B.Com (vocational) Hotel Management and Catering, M.Sc Biochemistry, M.Sc Computer Science.

Government College, Attingal: B.Sc Physics, B.A. English Language and Literature, B.A. Malayalam and B.A. Hindi.

All Saints College: B.Sc Computer Application, M.A. History.

Mar Ivanios College: M.A. Communicative English, B.Sc Biotechnology, M.A. Business Economics and M.Sc Environmental Science.

St. Xaviers College, Thumba: B.Sc Mathematics and B.A. Economics.

Christian College, Kattakkada: B.A. Communicative English, B.Sc Zoology, M.A. Economics and M.Sc Chemistry.

NSS College for Women, Karamana: M.A. Malayalam and M.Com Marketing.

M.G. College: M.A. English and M.Sc Chemistry.

VTMNSS College, Dhanuvachapuram: M.Sc Botany (specialisation in environmental biology), M.Sc Mathematics.

S.N. College, Chempazhanthy: B.Sc Computer Science and M.Sc Biology.

Iqbal College, Peringamala: B.A. Communicative English and M.Sc Botany.

Mahmaniya College of Arts and Science, Pangode: B.Sc Physics, B.Sc Sericulture (restructured), B.Sc Biotechnology and M.Com Banking.

S.N. College, Sivagiri: B.Sc Computer Application, B.Sc Biotechnology, M.Sc Analytical Chemistry and M.Sc Zoology.

Mar Theophilis Training College, Nalanchira: B.Ed Malayalam and B.Ed Syriac.

College of Fine Arts: MFA Applied Arts and MFA Sculpture.

Medical College: M.Sc MLT Biochemistry and M.Sc MLT Pathology.
