Monsoon sets in over AP

HYDERABAD, JUNE 2. The south- west monsoon set in over some parts of Rayalaseema and south coastal Andhra today. Conditions are favourable for further advance of the monsoon into other parts of Andhra Pradesh in the next two or three days, according to a weather summary issued by the Met Office here.

Rain occurred at several places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and isolated over Telengana and Rayalaseema.

The chief amounts of rainfall, recorded in cms, are - Machilipatnam 6, Eluru, Ibrahimpatnam (RR dt), Mantralayam 4 each, Tuni, Chintalapudi, Palam bridge 3 each.
