I was shattered by Cronje's offer: Kallis

CAPE TOWN, JUNE 13. Another South African cricketer, Jacques Kallis, today claimed he was approached by Hansie Cronje with a bribe offer during the Bangalore test, but said he had turned it down.

Testifying on the fifth day of a Government-appointed commission's public hearings into corruption in cricket, Kallis said: ``I thought it was another one of his jokes. With the benefit of hindsight it could have been his way of approaching us.''

Kallis said he was amazed to hear that Cronje was involved in wrongdoing. ``I was absolutely shattered, totally shocked. I thought he was the last person in the world who would do such a thing,'' he said.
