Chinese city seeks investments in software
XIAN, JUNE 13. Xian, the capital of China's Shaanxi province, is
keen to develop mutually beneficial ties with India, especially
Bangalore in order to boost the city's emerging software sector,
according to Mr. Cui Lintao, secretary of the Xian Municipal
Committee of the Communist Party of China.
Mr. Cui, who visited India in 1997, said Xian is establishing a
software development park as part of its Hi-tech Industries
Development Zone (HTDZ), and is keen to host Indian software
giants.
He said the city Government would provide attractive incentives
to Indian software companies which would like to set up
operations in the software development park.
Companies such as NIIT and Aptech have already established
computer education bases in China while Infosys is contemplating
setting up a software development centre in Beijing.
