International \| Previous \| Next Joshi attends Assad's funeral DAMASCUS, JUNE 13. The Human Resource Development Minister, Dr Murli Manohar Joshi today paid his last respects to the Syrian President Hafez al-Assad, who passed away on Saturday. The Minister was representing India at the funeral of the deceased leader here. Dr. Joshi later met the late President's son, Dr Bashar al-Assad, to convey his deep condolences.
