Household data to be put online
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD, JUNE 13. The multi-purpose household survey (MPHS)
data collected since 1995 and revised twice will be updated and
put online, the Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, said
here on Tuesday.
At a meeting with Ministers and senior officials, he said various
departments like Education, Family Planning, Civil Supplies and
Labour could make use of these details. The MHPS was started in
1995 along with electoral roll revision and revised in 1998 for
integration into a multi-purpose household card.
Mr. Naidu said the MPHS data would be integrated with the
household data survey (HDS) taken up during the 11th round of
Janmabhoomi. The MPHS data includes Assembly constituency number,
electoral card number, district, mandal, municipality and village
codes, police station number, house number, name of the head of
household and other family details while HDS data covers
additional aspects such as number of family members, number of
children, age group-wise and school-going wise.
The Chief Minister said the integration of the database regarding
land records with MPHS and HDS might be completed within three
months. The structure of the comprehensive database (CDB) was so
designed that additional databases could be integrated into it.
An important application of the CDB was to develop a multipurpose
identity card for each citizen which could be used for ration
cards, widow pensions, electoral cards, licences and other
services. The Finance Minister, Mr. Y. Ramakrushnudu, and the
Chief Secretary, Mr. P.V. Rao, were among those who attended the
meeting.
