Bihar power staff threaten strike
DHANBAD, JUNE 13. The Bihar State Progressive Electric Workers'
Union today threatened to go on state-wide indefinite strike from
July 7 in protest against the `mass transfer' of Bihar State
Electricity Board (BSEB) workers. The Union general secretary, Mr.
Ram Krishna Singh, alleged the BSEB management had failed to
implement the bilateral agreement on employees' demands reached
on January 27 and instead decided to transfer about 28,000
electricity board `workmen'.
This ``autocratic, punitive'' step of the management might lead
to disastrous effect on power generation, distribution and
transmission causing hardship to consumers, he told PTI here.
