BJP Mahila Morcha's call to women
By Our Staff Correspondent
BHOPAL, JULY 8. The president of Bharatiya Janata Party, Mahila
Morcha, Ms. Maya Singh, today called for greater participation of
women in all spheres of activities, including politics.
Addressing a press conference here, Ms. Singh praised women for
facing the challenges of playing a dual role - in the house and
outside - and added that men were still the main stumbling 3block
when it came to protecting women's rights.'' It is due to the
prevailing gender bias that women are finding it difficult to
compete with men in politics and other fields of activity,'' she
added.
Ms. Singh said the Morcha would set up a three-member committee
in every village to educate women about their rights. She spoke
on the success they had registered in Maharashtra where a two-
member team of party workers, consisting of the Matdan Pramukh
and Sah Pramukh, had been appointed for every polling booth to
monitor the voters lists.
