Kumaramangalam still critical

NEW DELHI, AUG. 20. The Prime Minister, Mr. A.B. Vajpayee, today visited the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences to enquire after the health of the Union Minister for Power, Mr. Kumaramangalam, who is still battling for life in the Intensive Care Unit.

The condition of Mr. Kumaramangalam still remains very critical with vital organs not responding to any treatment, an AIIMS bulletin said today .

The Medical Superintendent, Dr. R. K. Sarma, said the Specialists Faculty Committee was monitoring the health of Mr. Kumaramangalam. He was still on ventilator and undergoing dialysis. Dr. Sarma also confirmed that medical tests showed Mr. Kumaramangalam was suffering from myeloid leukemia with fulminant sepsis.
