Pakistan beat New Zealand by 12 runs in a high scoring Singapore Challenge triangular series opener on Sunday. Pakistan made 191 for six in a game reduced by rain to 25 overs per side, helped by some bold strokeplay from man-of-the-match Ijaz Ahmed (49) and Yousuf Youhana (46). Its bowlers then weathered some powerful hitting by New Zealand before dismissing it for 179.
