IBM launches new desktops

CHENNAI, AUG. 23. IBM India launched here a new range of desktop computers. The PCs - NetVista A 10 - offers customers the lowest cost of ownership for an entry level product and will be rolled out of IBM's manufacturing facility at Pondicherry.

The product series is offered with a Celeron 533 MHz microprocessor, with 32 MB RAM and 64 MB RAM memory and 10 GB hard disk.

The 32 MB Ram is priced at Rs. 36,500 and the 64 MB RAM at Rs. 38,500. NetVista A 10 comes bundled with a 14 inch colour monitor, Lotus Smart Suite and Norton anti virus software and a three-year limited warranty.

At a press conference here, Mr. Shashi Mal, Country Manager, Personal Systems Group, IBM India.

The demand for desktop computers was increasing as the customer's requirements were becoming more focussed.
