Cerebra's focus on software development

BANGALORE, AUG. 25. The Bangalore-based PC maker, Cerebra Integrated Technologies, has started focussing on software development. It has repositioned itself as a total IT solution provider.

Addressing presspersons, the Chairman and Managing Director of the company, Mr. V. Ranganathan, said it had tied up with AnyTech of the U.S. to leverage its business in software. It is also planning to set up a research base for WAP enabled software solutions.

On the hardware front, the company has bagged an order from the Australia's Revenue Department. It is exporting both hardware and software to Africa and SAARC substantially and is eyeing Sri Lankan and Nepalese markets.

Cerebra has launched Cerebra Mobile, a power packed sleek notebook. It manufactures mother boards in technical support with Intel with a capacity of 30,000 units a month.

The CMD said the company was setting up an additional SMT line to manufacture components like memory modules, display and network cards and monitors at an investment of about Rs. 3.4 crores. Cerebra which has 400 channel partners is planning to expand the network.
