Donald Duck illustrator dead


GRANTS PASS, AUG. 26. Carl Barks, Disney illustrator who was credited with giving Donald Duck his distinctive, comical personality, died on Friday at the age of 99. Barks, who had been receiving chemotherapy for leukaemia, died peacefully in his sleep.

He drew Donald Duck for the Walt Disney Studios from 1935 to 1942.
