Further rain likely due to low pressure area

HYDERABAD, AUG. 26. A low pressure area, which may result in further rain in the State, was lying over north-west and adjoining west-central Bay off Andhra-Orissa coast this evening.

Its associated features like air circulation are likely to result in moderate to rather heavy rain to the State on Sunday and Monday. A heavy rainfall warning has been issued for East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Khammam, Warangal and Nalgonda districts.

The monsoon was vigorous over coastal Andhra and there was rain at a few places in Telangana and Rayalaseema. Nidadavole, Koida and Chintalapudi recorded a heavy rainfall of 12 cm each. The other chief amounts of rainfall were as follows: Madhira 7 cm; Visakhapatnam, Dowlaiswaram, Tuni each 6 cm; Eluru, Coonavaram each 5 cm; Anakapalli, Peddapuram, Narsapur, Miryalaguda, Kaikalur, Mantralayam each 4 cm and; Ongole, Kavali, Bhimavaram, Bhimadole, Polavaram and Bhongir each 3 cm.

Forecast; Moderate to rather heavy rains are likely in the State.
