Flood threat in Kodagu, Mysore dts.

MYSORE, AUG. 26. The Cauvery is in spate following heavy rainfall
in Kodagu and Mysore Districts in the last few days.
According to reports, heavy rain continued to lash Kodagu, and at
least 10 feet of water was flowing above the old bridge in
Madikeri forcing the Home Guards to use a mechanised boat to
ferry people.
Release from the Kabini Reservoir caused floods in Nanjungud and
the land adjoining the main temple was submerged. The authorities
have sounded red alert downstream of the reservoir. The K.R.Sagar
recorded good inflow in the last 72 hour, and the water levl
stood at 120 feet as against the full level of 124. 80 feet. The
sources said 2,800 cusecs of water had been released into the
Visvesvaraya Canal.
