U.S. recognises India's n-concern
WASHINGTON, SEPT. 2. In a roundabout manner, the U.S. has begun
to recognise India's need for a nuclear deterrent because China
has nuclear weapons.
Departing from the previous practice of trying to limit Indian
concern to Pakistan and bilateralising the issue, the President
Mr. Bill Clinton, on Friday, acknowledged that if China built up
more nuclear weapons, India may feel compelled to follow suit and
then Pakistan would also do the same.
