DA hike for Central staff

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 23. The Union Cabinet today decided on a three
per cent hike in dearness allowance for Central Government
employees and dearness relief for pensioners with effect from
July 1. At present, the employees and the pensioners get 38 per
cent DA and dearness relief. The percentage would now go up to 41
per cent.
Announcing this, the Union Minister and spokesperson for the
Cabinet, Mr. Pramod Mahajan, said the additional financial
implication on account of the decision would work to Rs. 1,194.96
crores per year - Rs. 888.96 crores for DA and Rs. 306 crores for
dearness relief.
