New Zealand wins second Test

HARARE, SEPT. 23. New Zealand won the second Test by eight wickets on Saturday the final day, despite a brave, undefeated 188 by Zimbabwe's Guy Whittall, to win the series 2-0. Zimbabwe had resumed its follow-on innings on 228 for five, needing 299 to make New Zealand bat again. It was dismissed three balls after tea for 370 after Whittall and Heath Streak, who hit 54, put on 151 for the sixth wicket.

Chasing a victory target of 72 off 18 overs, New Zealand eased home on 74 for two with 2.4 overs remaining. New Zealand won the first Test by seven wickets in Bulawayo last Saturday. The first of three one-day internationals will be played in Harare on Wednesday.
