Directory of Keralites released

BANGALORE, OCT. 2. Kerala Pages--2000, a directory of Keralites residing outside the State, was released by Mr. T.John, Minister of State for Infrastructure and Civil Aviation, at a function here on Sunday.

He described it as a fruitful exercise worthy of appreciation. The directory, containing a list of prominent Malayalees from Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolar Gold Fields, Mangalore, Mysore and the Gulf countries, is a gift of the Kerala Samajam, Dooravaninagar. The first directory, containing the names of those living in the City, was released last year.

Inaugurating the function, which also saw the launch of the website --www.keralasamajam.org--,the Minister for Tourism, Mr. R. Roshan Baig, said he was planning to develop tourism in the State on the lines of that done by the Government of Kerala.

The Dooravaninagar Samajam was the only organisation to have a website, according to its president, Mr. Nainan.P.Oomen. The website was developed with the assistance of the Garden City College, and created by Adstock Business Networks International Pvt.Ltd.
