Opthalmology award for Shivakumar

BANGALORE, OCT. 2. The National Society For The Prevention of Blindness -- India, has conferred the Community Opthalmology Award on Dr. M.Shivakumar, Assistant Professor Opthalmology, Regional Institute of Opthalmology, Bangalore.

The award is in recognition of work done by Dr. Shivakumar, who has conducted a number of screening and operation camps for the visually-impaired and those belonging to the poor strata of the community.

Dr. Shivakumar has received training in the U.K. and the U.S. under the Commonwealth Fellowship in the eye care services and advanced micro-surgery techniques for cataract blindness.
