Poll violence: 338 arrested in Kannur

KANNUR, OCT. 4. The district police have so far arrested 338 people belonging to different parties in connection with the incidents of violence and booth- capturing on the polling day on September 27.

The District Superintendent of Police in a press release said here today that extensive raids were continuing in sensitive areas.

The release said all the culprits involved in the booth-capturing incidents had been identified. The police were continuing the raids on their suspected hide-outs. Booth-capturing had occurred in Bhashaposhini School under the Kolavallur police station, Vallyayi under the Panur police station and Kurumathur under the Panur police station.
