Hyundai Motor presents car to Malleswari

HYDERABAD, OCT. 14. The Hyundai Motor India presented a sporty Santro to the lone Indian medalist at the Olympics, Ms. Karnam Malleswari, on Saturday.

The Minister for Sports and Youth Empowerment, Mr. Tammineni Seetharam, and Mr. K.S. Kim, Managing Director, Hyundai Motor India, handed over the keys to Ms. Malleswari at a simple function organised here.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister called upon the corporate sector to pump money into sports to attract youngsters into the game. He opined that apart from bestowing gifts on winners, the corporates should sponsor various disciplines to produce more winners. He admitted that the successive Governments had failed to accord priority to sports.

Ms. Malleswari thanked the Government for allotting land for setting up a weightlifting academy and said she would soon choose the place. Mr. Rajesh Tyagi, husband of Malleswari, was also present.

Green Home Landscape Pvt Ltd presented 500-sq.yd plot to Ms. Malleswari at the Airport City project. The sale agreement was handed over to her by the Addl. DGP, Mr. Swaranjit Sen. The group's managing director, Mr. Hazrath B.Rao, was also present.

The Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, inaugurated the website (www.karnam-malleswari.com) developed by the city based ICSA (I) Ltd during the felicitation to Ms. Malleswari.
