Chittoor Collector submits report on prisoner's escape

HYDERABAD, OCT. 16. The Chittoor Collector, who conducted an
enquiry into the circumstances of the escape of 10 prisoners from
the Chittoor Sub-Jail on September 17, submitted his report on
Monday.
Apart from recommending the strengthening of security, the
Collector has fixed responsibility on certain police and jail
department personnel who were on duty at the time of the
incident, according to a statement from the Chief Minister's
Office.
Provision of a siren, enhancing the height of the wall and
covering the top wall of the jail with broken glass pieces were
some of the recommendations made by the Collector. The Chief
Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, accepted the enquiry report
and directed the concerned to take necessary action immediately.
