Collaborative design solution from Oracle and PTC

By Our Special Correspondent

BANGALORE, OCT. 16. Oracle Corporation and PTC, a leading provider of Internet solutions for manufacturing product development, announced today that they have joined forces to deliver an integrated collaborative product commerce (CPC) solution.

PTC's product, `Windchill', complements the Oracle Product Development Exchange package to support the collaborative design of highly engineered products over the Internet.

Windchill provides users with sophisticated engineering tools such as CAD data management, 3D visualisation and markup, digital mockup and the InPart content library, a comprehensive mechanical parts catalogue.

The combined Oracle and PTC solution enables manufacturers to be more competitive by leveraging the technologies and expertise of their business partners through outsourcing of design, development, and production activities.

This new web-based CPC solution will be hosted on the Oracle Exchange platform to interface seamlessly with and add value to Oracle Product Development Exchange, as well as the Oracle Exchange Marketplace and Oracle Supply Chain Exchange.
