Tata Electric cos. do well

Tata Power Company has announced a net profit of Rs. 66.81 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2000 against Rs. 65.07 crores in the corresponding period of the previous year. Sales were higher at Rs. 466.32 crores against Rs. 321.78 crores. Other income amounted to Rs. 56.32 crores (Rs. 58.85 crores) giving a total income of Rs. 522.64 crores (Rs. 380.63 crores). The total expenditure for the period was Rs. 374.55 crores (Rs. 246.55 crores).

For the half year ended September 2000, the company has recorded a net profit of Rs. 107.8 crores (Rs. 104.04 crores). Sales, for the period, were Rs. 879.99 crores (Rs. 656.44 crores).

Andhra Valley Power Supply Company has announced a net profit of Rs. 40.34 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2000 against Rs. 36.28 crores in the corresponding period last year. Sales have improved to Rs. 279.79 crores from Rs. 193.07 crores.

For the half year ended September 2000, the company has announced a net profit of Rs. 65.68 crores (Rs. 60.43 crores). Sales were Rs. 539.69 crores (Rs. 393.86 crores).

Tata Hydro-Electric Power Supply Company has achieved a net profit of Rs. 31.10 crores for the same quarter against Rs. 26.58 crores in the corresponding period last year. Sales were higher at Rs. 186.52 crores against Rs. 128.72 crores.

For the half year ended September 30, the company recorded a net profit of Rs. 47.46 crores (Rs. 42.56 crores). Sales were Rs. 361.28 crores (Rs. 262.58 crores).
