CM holds talks with top Japanese firms

HYDERABAD, OCT. 21. The Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu,
on the fourth day of his tour of Japan, travelled by a train to
study the transportation system, and held discussions with three
big firms - the Marubeni Corporation, the Toshiba Corporation and
Electric Power Development Corporation.
The Yurikimome Transport system has 12 stations in a distance of
11.5 km, and the trains operate 459 times per day. According to a
CM's office press note, the train operates from Shinbashi to
Ariake, that the private company that runs the train service has
179 employees on its roll, and the train operates without a
driver, as it is monitored from a control room. The President of
the system, Mr. Yasuji Hotta, welcomed the Chief Minister at his
office. Mr. Chandrababu Naidu visited the control room and saw
the operation of the train. The three big corporations organised
a special function to honour Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, who urged
Japan to involve in a big way in the Information Technology
sector.
He said that if a consortium was formed to set up new mega
projects in Andhra Pradesh, the Government will give all support.
Mr. Hiroshi Matsumura of the Marubeni Corporation said that his
corporation can take up the proposed power project in Ramagundam,
if an MoU can be signed with the State Government and the BPL.
Mr. Akira Asano, Director, Mr. Toshio Uzawa, General Manager,
Toshiba Corporation, Mr. Taruo Hama, Executive Director, Electric
Power Development Corporation, Mr. Tadahiko Nakagawa, Senior
Advisor, participated in the talks.
