The week ahead
THIS WEEK there is a New Moon in the sign of Scorpio, which will
result in an increased interest in the subjects of sex, money and
psychological exploration. Scorpio is the most misunderstood and
maligned sign in the zodiac; when you look at the range of
compelling, yet taboo, themes that it rules, it's not difficult
to understand why. The truth is that sex, money, and overpowering
emotions are subjects that everyone has to deal with and turning
away from them in fear or discomfort isn't going to make them go
away. This week, do yourself a favour and have a conversation
with someone close to you about your feelings regarding your
sexuality or your finances. With the Scorpio New Moon, this
conversation shouldn't be too painful, and will definitely help
you shed light on a subject that is often kept in the dark, yet
is so vital to your everyday life.
Queries answered
Is it true that for native of Simha Lagna, Angaraka is both a
Yoga Karaka and a Badhakadhipathi? If so, which aspect will
predominate?
- V. K. Rao, Srirangam
ANGARAKA (Mars) is to be deemed as a Yoga Karaka as well as a
Badhakadhipathi for Simha Lagna. The former is true, since he
owns both the 4th House and the 9th House from Lagna. The latter
effect arises because he owns the 9th. Simha is a Fixed Sign
(Sthira Rasi). And for such Rasis (Rishabha, Simha, Vrischika and
Kumbha) the lord of the 9th can signify some harm. As to which
aspect of Mars will dominate in the instant case that as
Yogakaraka, or the other as malefactor - we must reckon the
strengths of the Lagna and its lord the Sun, of the lord of the
reigning Maha Dasa, and of other relevant aspects before arriving
at a reasonable opinion.
