CHRISTCHURCH, DEC. 5. Powered by a half century (52) from the Player of the Match, Hirochi Aheysinghe, Sri Lanka notched up its first win in the Cricinfo women's World Cup here on Tuesday, beating the winless Ireland by 10 runs.

The Lankan women posted 129 in 47.3 overs with Abeysinghe making 52 off 108 balls with four hits to the fence.
