Sale of Jet tickets to be suspended
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD, JAN. 8. The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport
Corporation (APSRTC) has decided to temporarily suspend the sale
of Jet tickets, following detection of a racket involved in
circulating fake tickets. The sale of Jet tickets which enable
the frequent passengers to travel anywhere in a week would be
suspended with immediately effect.
According to corporation sources, the decision would enable the
authorities to exhaust the validity of the already issued
tickets. The Jet tickets introduced in 1998 had evoked good
response from frequent travellers in the State. Two persons, one
from Cuddapah and another from Hyderabad, were nabbed by the RTC
officials at Imliban bus station on Sunday when they were trying
to use fake Jet tickets. The Afzalgunj police are investigating
the case.
