Arun, Raj Kidambi share lead

SALEM, JAN 10: Both leaders in the boys categories, Phanindra Reddy of Thiruvallur and T. Abhay of Chennai, were defeated in the sixth round of the Philips Lighting 13th Tamil Nadu State under-12, 14 boys and girls chess championships for the Dolphin trophies.

In the under-14 category, S. Arun Prasad of Salem and Bharat Raj Kidambi of Chennai are the new leaders with 5 points each. In the under-14 girls event, R. Mahima of Madurai maintained her lead defeating M. Akila of Coimbatore.

In the under-12 also there are two joint leaders: T. U. Navin Kanna of Thiruvallur and R. Arun Karthik of Coimbatore. In the under-12 girls division, P. Sivasankari of Thiruvallur and G. Sowmya of Madurai are in the lead with 5.5 points each.
