C-DoT to open R&D centre in Kolkata
By Our Staff Reporter
KOLKATA, JAN. 13. The Union Minister of State for
Telecommunications, Mr. Tapan Sikdar, said that the Centre for
Development of Telematics (C-DoT) would set up a research and
development centre in Kolkata. The centre would mark C-DoT's
entry into Eastern India. The facility would later be used for
training also.
Mr. Sikdar said C-DOT authorities were earlier negotiating to
purchase some real estate properties from Jessop 7 Co. ``However
at a recent meeting I suggested them to set up shop at the
`Infinity' building in Salt Lake''. He was addressing a press
conference on the occasion of 32 mbps connectivity provided by
VSNL to `Infinity'.
