Bush offers assistance
WASHINGTON, JAN. 26. The U.S. President, Mr. George W bush today
conveyed his condolence to the families affected by the
earthquake in Gujarat and offered assistance to the State.
``I am saddened by the news of the tragic earthquake centred in
Gujarat this morning. I extend my condolences and those of the
American people to the families of the many victims in the cities
and villages of Gujarat and elsewhere. ``Earthquakes know no
political boundaries. We stand ready to assist as needed...,'' he
said.
