Swap a ticket, surf the Net
AND now, it is time to gift-wrap Internet and say a meaningful
hello to the cybergeneration.
As browsing from swank public access centres gains popularity,
DishnetDSL, an Internet Service Provider, running a country-wide
network of ``hub centres'' has come out with ``web-tickets''
which one can buy off the shelf and gift. Each ticket can be
exchanged for an hour of high- speed internet use at any of the
Dishnet hub centres in the city.
Called ``Time2Surf'' each packet, has 10 tickets, which are not
just so many passes to browse. For,it also contains a web guide.
The guide has an overview of the Internet and WWW and short notes
on browsing, searching, e-mail, chat and all utilities of the
Net. It also has a directory of various categories and URLs with
appropriate screenshots - a useful booklet for the beginners.
The advantage of the DishnetDSL hub centres, says the company, is
that the access is fast because of the high bandwidth used.
