By Sridhar Krishnaswami
NEW YORK, FEB. 12. The former U.S. President, Mr. Bill Clinton,
is joining a fund- raising here this week for the Gujarat
Earthquake Relief efforts.
The charity event being hosted by the Radisson Hotel New York
East side, formerly known as the Lexington Hotel, and the Indo-
American Arts Council, includes a benefit dinner.
An art auction would also be conducted by Christie's of New York.
As a part of his ongoing interest in foreign affairs as also
because of his association with India and the Indian American
Community in this country, Mr. Clinton has made it known that he
will be playing a major role in raising money for the victims of
the devastating earthquake that hit Gujarat.
Recently Mr. Clinton met with prominent members of the Indian
American business community here and pledged his inputs to raise
funds for relief.
The $250 per plate benefit dinner and the auction is scheduled to
take place on February 15 at Dynasty, a Chinese restaurant
located in the Radisson Hotel.
Mr. Clinton is expected to speak for a few minutes and
