KC(J) sees no reason to quit LDF
By Our Staff Reporter
PATHANAMTHITTA, FEB. 12. The Education Minister, Mr. P.J. Joseph,
has said that his party does not see any reason to quit the
ruling Left Democratic Front.
Talking to presspersons at the PWD Rest House here this
afternoon, Mr. Joseph said that he was hopeful of resolving the
issues placed before the LDF committee by his party and hence
there was no question of coming out of the ruling coalition.
To a question on the recent `discussions' with the Kerala
Congress(M) leader, Mr. K.M. Mani, on the merger issue, Mr.
Joseph reiterated his party's stand that the merger of all
factions of the Kerala Congress was the need of the hour. The
KC(J) had even passed a resolution to this effect, he said.
Asked whether the merger move on the eve of the Assembly
elections was aimed at `protecting' those allegedly involved in
the Plus Two allocation corruption, Mr. Joseph denied of any
corruption in the Plus Two allocation.
The Minister said that he had no knowledge of the Chief Minister,
Mr. E.K. Nayanar, mentioning anything on the alleged corruption
in the Plus Two allocation.
Mr. Joseph was here to attend the Maramon convention.
